Stonehenge aligns with the sun during the solstices, making it a truly unique time to visit. Thousands, in fact, journey to the English countryside to mark the arrival of the summer solstice and the winter solstice every year.
Stonehenge has sparked the imagination of generations of travelers and has even inspired a few manmade wonders in Missouri, including Canoehenge.

Hidden between Onondaga Cave State Park and Ozark Outdoors Resort, Canoehenge pays homage to Stonehenge. The 100 canoes are placed to look like their (almost) English counterpart.

All of the canoes featured in Canoehenge have been retired, after having traveled up and down the nearby Meramec River countless times. Today, they've been transformed into a fun attraction that beckons curiosity seekers and outdoor adventurers.

An attraction along the Katy Trail between Jefferson City and Rocheport, Boathenge mysteriously appeared on the landscape in the mid-1990s. Each of its six boats is six feet wide and 13 feet tall. Boathenge is perhaps just as mysterious as Stonehenge itself.
