Missouri can do anything that Kansas can do and that includes growing big, beautiful sunflowers. Since we are the Show Me State, we will prove it to you! This amazing sunflower field is hiding in a conservation area in North St. Louis County. Enjoy the beautiful surroundings on your way to find this bright sunny, yellow field of sunflowers. Don’t delay this trip, sunflower season is typically only the first two weeks in July.
The Columbia Bottom Conservation Area is controlled by the Missouri Department of Conservation. Each July sunflowers bloom to create a spectacular view.
The Columbia Bottom Conservation area is surprisingly nowhere near Columbia, Missouri. Just 25 minuets from downtown St. Louis, this piece of nature remains undisturbed by the sprawling city.
There are over 15 miles of hiking and multi-use trails for bicycling and horseback riding. However, the equestrian trail is only open during warmer months.
This gorgeous view simply can't be missed. You may want to check out the event on June 14th if you're looking to capture this amazing scenery on camera.
Honestly, the whole Columbia Bottom's area is beautiful. At different times during blooming season you will see various species of wildflowers on display.
Find the Columbia Bottom Conservation Area at 801 Strodtman Rd, St. Louis.
