Unfortunately, Labor Day is just around the corner. While Labor Day signals the end of summer, it doesn’t have to be a downer. All across the state, fun festivals and exciting events are taking place over the long Labor Day weekend. One of the best Labor Day weekend festivals in Missouri is the annual Kansas City Irish Festival. Celebrate everything Irish at this epic three-day festival that’s even bigger than St. Patrick’s Day!
The 16th Annual Kansas City Irish Fest will be held August 31st through September 2nd. This huge event attracts thousands of visitors and celebrates everything from Irish heritage to the best Irish entertainment.
Head to Crown Center for the festival but be sure to buy your tickets in advance to save some money! Early bird tickets are available now through Aug. 26th. Friday admission is $10 and Saturday or Sunday admission is $12. However, there are many great packages you can choose from as well that are great for groups, out-of-towners, or whiskey lovers.
Speaking of whiskey...there are lots of great drinks served up at Irish Fest. From Boulevard beer to Irish coffee with Jameson, feel free to try it all. It's easy to take the streetcar through downtown to get to the event.
Foodies, there is a lot for you to love too! There are already 17 food vendors registered for the festival. You'll get to try the best in Irish fare but Midwestern favorites like funnel cakes and custard will be available too.
Irish Fest is kid friendly too. Bring your little ones to Tír na nÓg (Land of the Young) for a little magic. Let them build their own fairy houses, listen to stories about magical Ireland, or just let loose and play in the activities zone.
Love Irish music? You're in luck, there will be over 30 bands on seven different stages throughout the weekend. Musical acts are coming to Kansas City from all across the globe, it's guaranteed to be a rocking good time!
There's bound to be some fun surprises throughout the weekend. Bring your special someone and slip a Claddagh ring on their finger. It's easy to get swept up by your emotions in this sea of green.
Kansas City Irish Fest just gets bigger and better each year! Don't miss out on all the drinks, food, and fun. On Friday gates open at 5 p.m. and close at 11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday gates open at 11 a.m. and close at 11 p.m.
