Kansas City is probably the best place in the world. At least, that’s what we think. Our amazing city has so much to offer, all you have to do is just look around. So, with that in mind, check out these great reasons why Kansas City is the most underrated place in the U.S.
1. Kansas City barbecue = pure bliss.
There's so many places for barbecue in town, so it's almost impossible to pick one. However, most of the ones you visit serve juicy, delicious meats in our signature style.
2. Boulevards caters to every taste.
No matter what kind of beer drinker you are, odds are that a variety of Boulevard's will suit your tastes. They were founded in 1989, and continue to serve us the best of the best.
3. Our history is rich and full of important milestones.
Our numerous museums and rich history provides such a plentiful background for our citizens. Plus, the two million people who live in the KC metro area bring with them plenty of history too.
4. The Plaza is always the best place to be.
Whether you're looking for a hangout, shopping, or just sightseeing, the Plaza is the go-to spot for all things Kansas City.
5. We have the best hill for sledding.
Suicide Hill is the absolute best place to sled when it snows. Hopefully it actually snows this year so we aren't just waiting around for slush.
6. There's an incredible selection of restaurants.
No matter what kind of cuisine you want to eat, you'll find it somewhere. In addition, there's almost always options for each and every type, too.
7. We're home to the loudest outdoor stadium in the NFL.
Isn't this self explanatory? We broke the record in 2014, but we're still the loudest, especially if we combine everyone who's cheering at home.
8. And we offer amazing entertainment selections for every taste.
If you like theater, concerts, symphonies, or any sort of live music or poetry, you'll find it somewhere in Kansas City. There's even people playing in the streets on nice days, if you'd like to be surprised with your musical entertainment.
9. World's of Fun is right on our doorstep.
Though some of us don't like all the tourists hanging around when we'd also like to enjoy the park, sometimes it's nice to see people from outside the city. Well, until they pull out a Wizard of Oz joke, that is.
10. We helped bring jazz icons to life.
Charlie Parker and Count Basie were two of the big jazz musicians that got their start in Kansas City. There's a few others, but without playing here and getting big, who knows where they would have ended up.
11. Our library is cooler than any other library.
It's made of books! Not really, of course, but it definitely looks cooler than any other library I've ever seen.
12. Our teams are better than other teams.
Sometimes teams don't have to constantly win in order to be good teams. Sometimes, like with our teams, they're just good people playing a great game, win or lose.
13. And, of course, our people are the best in the U.S.
We've got a little bit of everything in each of us. A little southern charm, a little hospitality, a little Midwestern kindness, and our East/West coast wits.
