Every year, when the snow falls and the water freezes, we get to bask in the beauty of this waterfall frozen in place. They also have luminary walks every year, where the cold ground is lit up with candles along the path. It's just gorgeous! Come celebrate winter in Kansas City with a spellbinding browse through the gardens in all their frozen splendor.
5. The penguin march at the Kansas City Zoo

The lighting of the trees here at Powell Gardens is made possible by KCP&L, and they've got a great plan for it. The lights are botanically themed that begin at the garden and wind through six of the themed gardens. Doesn't that sound amazing? 7. Strawberry Hill Museum's Olde World Christmas - Kansas City, Kansas

On the weekends, you can see themed Christmas rooms dressed up to represent many different cultures, each displayed in their own room. We can't get enough of this museum in Kansas City all year, but winter might just be our favorite.

8. Sledding down “Suicide Hill”


This great video by YouTube user Daniel Westra really shows just how to enjoy Suicide Hill if we get enough snow. Make sure you have a sturdy sled because this hill is killer (hence the moniker). Woohoo!
