It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas across Missouri, especially with many corners of the state already seeing their first snowfall. Even if you’re not quite in the spirit yet, a stroll down the sidewalks of the enchanting town of Independence, festively decorated for the season, should do the trick. In fact, you’ll find so many picture-perfect ways to create holiday memories in this Christmas wonderland that the clock will strike midnight on December 31, 2018, before you know it.
Embrace the spirit of the season when you visit Independence, which transforms into a Christmas wonderland every November and December.
Start your Christmas adventure with Merry and Bright Christmas at the Visitor Experience Center. The Christmas celebration runs from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. every Saturday through December 16, 2018.
And, engage in a "Christmas Victorian romance" at the Vaile Mansion, where you'll tour the 31-room mansion, all decked out for the holidays. Tours are offered from November 23 to December 30, 2018.
But, that's just the beginning. Independence also comes together for the Mayor's Christmas Concert, the Mayor's Christmas Carnival, and the Winter Solstice Torch-Lit Hike.
