Nothing quite compares to a day lounging on the beach, especially during the height of summer…unless, of course, you prefer a hiking adventure. In that case, you might want to add this picturesque trail that will take you around some of Smithville Lake in Missouri to your to do list. It boasts a ton of natural scenery and gorgeous views of the sandy beach.
Smithville Lake's an idyllic destination, especially for beach-goers who enjoy lounging in the soft sand and soaking up the sun before cooling off in the 7,200-acre lake.
If you're a hiker, however, you might have your sights set on exploring some of the area around Smithville Lake, including the shoreline, on one of its hiking trails.
For a truly epic adventure, follow the Smithville Lake Trails, a 7.3-mile path that combines all of the park's trails. If you want to see a ton of natural scenery, you'll probably love this trail in Camp Branch Park.
Be forewarned, however, if you're bringing a stroller along. The paved portions are just fine with a stroller, but you won't find the same when you come to the dirt portions.
What you will find is a moderately difficult trail that's dotted with maps, which will make it much easier for you to stay oriented as to where you are on the trail.
