Do you ever come across a hidden gem and ask yourself, “How have I not known about this before?” That’s exactly how I felt when I stumbled upon Rock Bridge Memorial State Park in Columbia. Conveniently located next to a lively college town and the Katy Trail, it’s the perfect place to venture off for a day trip.
Rock Bridge Memorial State Park has 8 trails to hike, but the most popular one is known as "Devil's Icebox."
Devil's Icebox is a boardwalk trail that will take you to both Devil's Icebox and Conor's Cave.
The first geological feature you'll arrive at is the 63-foot natural tunnel which is where Rock Bridge Memorial State Park gets its name from.
After Devil's Icebox, you'll arrive at Conor's Cave. Visitors often try to climb in to cool off in the summer.
The adventure doesn't stop there! Another unique trail is Sinkhole Trail. Just like the name states, you'll come across various sinkholes.
Rock Bridge Memorial State Park is definitely a diamond in the rough. With easy hiking trails and breathtaking geological features, it should be a must-see in Missouri.
Rock Bridge Memorial State Park is located at 5901 South Highway 163 in Columbia, Missouri.
