And, the Hendel family purchased the shop in 1915, running the beloved business as a specialty grocery store and butcher shop until Henry and Marge Hendel sold the shop in 1993.
Today, the general and grocery store turned restaurant is owned by the Bennett family, who pay homage to the shop's rich history with photos from the past adorning the walls and a menu of delectable dishes.
Join generations of Missourians who have dined at Hendel's Restaurant, open Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
