Why You Definitely Should Not Be Dreading Winter In Missouri
Winter isn’t all bad…I lived in the southwest for a few years and it was always weird how the seasons didn’t really change, just the temperature. At least here in the Midwest we can mark the time of year by the weather outside. Here are a few things about winter that we can actually look forward to.

...and boots, and winter coats and other winter fashion. Layers and scarves are fun and a lot easier when it's not super-hot outside.

Starting Thanksgiving week, you will see lights going up all over the place. The night sky lights up like no other time.

With the season coming to an end it's almost time for the playoffs. How will your team do? [Note: Be sure to bundle up, it's probably gonna be COLD.]

Bugs are few and far between in the winter and there are definitely no mosquitoes to deal with for a while.

Pumpkin Pie at Thanksgiving is followed by Christmas cookies, fudge, and pecan pie. With all the layers you are wearing, you won't be able to see the weight gain until spring so INDULGE! [In moderation, of course.]

Sorry, boss...can't make it to work today, the roads are all closed. [On the other hand, kids home from school can be a double-edged sword.]

Sledding, skiing, snowmobiling, fort-building and snow ball fights are ways to make the best of the cold and snow.

Snow can create a beautiful backdrop to almost any scene. When you don't have to shovel it or drive in it, it's really quite peaceful.

Winter is perfect for cuddling. Even more perfect if you can have a fire in the fireplace.

Hot chocolate and yummy coffee drinks are great this time of year. Don't forget the whipped cream!!!

The holidays are a time to bring family together. For some families it may be the only time of year it happens.
The best thing you can do is look on the bright side of winter in Missouri. Milder than some of the more northern states, and usually a little shorter too, so just bundle up, make some hot chocolate, and hang on. What are some other good things about winter? Share in the comments below.
