The beautiful, historic German town of Hermann is just what the doctor ordered.
Hermann is a beautiful little river town near the center of the Missouri Rhineland and south of the Missouri River. It has been voted "Missouri’s Most Beautiful Town" by Rural Missouri Magazine and named "Best Small-Town Destination" and "Best Day Trip from St. Louis" in AAA’s Best of the Midwest poll. A nice relaxing getaway is in store for you the next two days!
Wings A Blazin’ is a relaxed aviation-themed restaurant with hot wings and other finger foods, craft beers and outdoor seating. They are known for their 25 cent "chicken lip" night. Chicken Lips are boneless chicken wings, and theirs are not breaded, but go straight into fryers and are tossed in a selection of sauces like honey BBQ, honey mustard, Jamaican jerk, garlic parmesan and teriyaki.

Located at 312 Schiller Street, the Historic Hermann Museum is housed in the historic German School building. The building, constructed in 1871, served as Hermann’s elementary school until 1955. It also features the clock tower, which has been operating continuously since 1890.

Deutschheim State Historic Site consists of buildings and demonstration gardens whose purpose is to preserve the culture and heritage of the Germans who migrated to Missouri in the 19th century. The 1840 Pommer-Genter house is one of the oldest buildings in Hermann, built by some of the founders of the town. There is a demonstration garden and barn with 19th century tools.
The Carl Strehly house was originally built in 1842 as a three-room house but was enlarged over the next 27 years many times. Expansions included more room for a growing family, a printing business, and a winery and wine cellar.
