Finding family-friendly fun in Missouri is pretty easy. In fact, the challenge comes when we’re deciding what to do for the day when we have so many choices. If you live in the St. Louis-area, chances are you’ve spent some time at Forest Park, whether at the Saint Louis Zoo or exploring one of its hiking trails. You might also want to check out Forest Park’s Nature Playscape.
Bring the whole family along to the brand new Anne C. Albrecht Nature Playscape at Forest Park, which opened in June of 2021.
Wear comfy shoes, because you’ll want to explore all of the nine activity areas that will inspire you and bring you closer to nature. The kiddos will love the sand play areas and the willow tunnels.
The nature playscape is all about, well, nature, and you’ll have an abundance of it to admire – from more than 300 trees to 700 shrubs. If you’re a fan of plants, you’ll love the 40,000 perennials.
Don’t worry if you need a break. You have plenty of benches on which to relax. Each of the benches, in fact, is made from local trees that have fallen or were in some way hazardous when they were standing.
Bring along drinks, or use one of the water fountains. The nature playscape also features pumps for washing your hands, stations for cleaning off your boots, and bike racks.
