Just about 45 minutes west of St. Louis is a small town in the heart of Missouri wine country. Defiance is important to Missouri’s history as the area was once home to native Americans, pioneer Daniel Boone, and the Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railway. Now, Defiance is a peaceful destination for those who appreciate Missouri’s natural beauty.
You can find so many things to do and see in Defiance; visit one of the many wineries, stay in one of the large historic bed and breakfast inns, explore the Katy Trail, kayak the Missouri River, or cruise down highway 94 on your motorcycle. Regardless of why you decide to visit, you’ll never forget a trip to this enchanting Missouri town.
Defiance is a wonderful small town just outside of the St. Louis metro. Surrounded by natural beauty and teeming with fun attractions makes Defiance the perfect Missouri destination.
A great way to get to Defiance is by bike via the Katy Trail. Many visitors find this little Missouri oasis when looking for a relaxing stop along the trail.

The Daniel Boone Homestead is also located in Defiance and is one of the main attractions in St. Charles County.

Adjacent to the Boone home is Boonefield Village which is comprised of many 19th century buildings that have been moved to their present location for preservation. The Old Peace Chapel is the center point of the village and is a popular venue for weddings, vow renewals, and baptisms.

Just across the street from the Defiance Inn is the Yellow Farmhouse Winery. This cute little vineyard sits atop a hill just steps from the Katy Trail.
Grab a bite to eat at the Defiance Roadhouse. Order your food to go and take it back to the Yellow Farmhouse Winery or stay and enjoy live music on the Roadhouse patio.
With amazing wineries, beautiful scenery, great places to stay, neat things to do, and friendly faces at every stop you'd be doing yourself a disservice by not planning a visit to Defiance.
