If you love a hike with a view, this city park feature’s a trail you just have to take. Going on an easy hike with sweeping views of Missouri’s largest city will make you feel like you’re on top of the world. However, don’t just take it from us, take this 2 mile hike to the peak of this Penn Valley Park for views unlike any other in Missouri.
Penn Valley Park is located in beautiful Kansas City. This urban park is best known for the Liberty Memorial Tower and WWI Museum that are both on-site. However, the park is also a place for stunning views of downtown Kansas City.
Take the walking trail up to The Scout. This 10 ft tall statue depicts a Sioux Indian on horseback, looking across the horizon. Views from The Scout stature at Penn Valley Park are simply breathtaking. Its the perfect spot to watch a sunset.
The 2 mile walking trail takes you all across the park. The beautiful lake was created in 1904, before the construction of I-35 and the Southwest Trafficway.
There are over 176 acres of land to enjoy at Penn Valley Park. Bring your pup along for this walk, afterwards you can take your pooch to Kansas City's first off-leash dog park.
