Missouri isn’t lacking in natural beauty, gorgeous parks, meandering hikes and expansive views. But one of the best outdoors experiences can be found at Dogwood Canyon Nature Park .
Dogwood Canyon Nature Park is located at 2038 MO-86, Lampe, MO 65681.
Its 10,000 acres offer everything a nature lover could want: clear running streams, stunning waterfalls, picturesque bridges, and ancient burial caves. There's even a fly-fishing school available.
In the valley you'll find hardwoods, evergreens and dogwoods. American bison and elk also call the valley home.
Explore it via a 6.5-mile trail accessible to both bikers and hikers. You'll pass limestone bluffs, an Amish covered bridge and tons of natural beauty.
Or, explore the park via horseback. Explore parts of the park you can't otherwise see with an experienced guide.
Yet another way to experience the beautiful park is via Jeep.
Unlike most parks in Missouri, this one will cost you a little to get in. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children. Activities cost additional fees.
The land is managed by the Dogwood Canyon Foundation, a nonprofit with a mission of "preserving and protecting the canyon's natural plant and wildlife environment."
If you get hungry on your adventures, you can stop in at the Mill and Canyon Grill Restaurant, located on Indian Creek.
Don't miss the Education Center, located in a truly impressive treehouse. This amazing structure was featured on Animal Planet's Treehouse Masters.
