Wheee!! Remember how much fun going down slides as a kid was? Some of us might even slide down with our kiddos, especially when they’re really little, these days. Well, if you loved slides way back when, you’re probably going to love them a whole lot more now. A collection of slides is just one of the ways the whole family can have fun at City Museum, a great big playground where time just melts away.
Get ready to spend your day sliding down some really awesome slides – some say as many as 30 – at City Museum in St. Louis, an art installation and playground for kids (and adults) of all ages.
Before you head over to the museum, however, make sure you’re dressed for adventure. The museum recommends tennis shoes or closed-toed shoes and long pants, such as jeans, especially if you plan on doing a lot of sliding.

If you want to visit the rooftop, you’ll have to pay an additional $5 on top of your admission price. (Season passes to the museum are also available.)
Bring with you a sense of adventure, because you’re going to discover surprises around every corner – old-school pinball machines and arcade games you can play, an artquarium with real and imaginary fish, and caves that reveal their own surprises.
If you love art, you’ll definitely want to spend some time on the fourth floor. There, you’ll find a massive collection of lantern slides and art pieces by local artists at the St. Louis Art Center. The kids can make their own artistic masterpieces at Art City.
City Museum also hosts several eateries. Get a quick sugar rush at Candy Counter & Slushy Island, for example, or dig into a brick oven pizza at Samwiches.
