Upon seeing the movie, “Charlie And The Chocolate Factory”, I think it became every kid’s dream to find themselves in a chocolate factory. Lucky for us, we have our very own chocolate factory in Missouri. It may not be Willy Wonka’s, but I’d dare to say that their chocolates are just as good, if not better.
Chocolate Chocolate Chocolate Company first opened its doors in St. Louis in 1981.
After years of candymaking apprenticeships, Dan Abel returned home to St. Louis to open his first Chocolate Chocolate Chocolate retail store. After experiencing a lot of success, the store began to franchise itself in 2002 with additional locations. The demand grew all across the United States, so a wholesale division was opened.
In 2012, The Abel family opened a 30,000 square foot state-of-the-art chocolate factory.
Tours run throughout the week from Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. and 9:00 a.m. - 1 p.m. on Saturdays. Each tour lasts 30 minutes. Though they are free, it is recommended to call ahead to secure a reservation.

No oompa loompas here! All the chocolates at the factory are made by a talented staff of candy makers using their hands to operate the machines and add the finer details.
After the chocolate hardens a bit and is cracked into pieces, it's topped with additional ingredients. Some of their artisan barks include Milk Sea Salt Bark, White Chocolate Cashew Coconut Bark and Dark Cherry Pistachio Bark.
The gourmet chocolates require some extra tender, love and care when it comes to garnishing them by hand.
