Indulge in a bit of nostalgia with a visit to The National Museum of Toys and Miniatures in Kansas City, a 33,000-square-foot museum that boasts a collection of more than 68,000 toys and 22,000 miniatures.
The wheelchair-accessible museum has an elevator and accessible parking.
A bucket list-worthy Missouri attraction since it opened in 1982, the two-story museum promises fun for visitors of all ages, particularly those five and older, with its exhibits and collections.
Stroll through the two floors, where you’ll pass such nostalgic toys as a teddy bear from 1905, a doll of baseball superstar Jackie Robinson from 1950, and a Flying Saucer toy from 1965.
While the toys are sure to stoke feelings of nostalgia, the miniatures, from miniature dollhouses to a miniature wine fountain from 2001, promise an equally fascinating experience.
With changing exhibits that range from a doll gallery to mid-century aluminum Christmas Trees, the museum is a must-visit more than once. Keep up-to-date with all of the current exhibits.
Carve out at least 90 minutes for your visit to The National Museum of Toys and Miniatures, although you can easily spend more time exploring the two floors.
