A really good history book can leave us riveted. However, sometimes nothing compares to actually experiencing a piece of history. When you join this Missouri cave tour, for example, you’ll get a glimpse at the state’s rich natural history. Even if you’re not a history buff, the cave’s sheer natural beauty is sure to leave you mesmerized.
Journey back millions of years when you tour Bridal Cave in Camdenton, named one of the most scenic caves in the United States.
The cave sat untouched and unnoticed until nearly two centuries ago when the Osage Native Americans discovered the natural gem, tucked under Thunder Mountain.
By the mid-point of the 20th century, Bridal Cave had been deemed a natural treasure, drawing visitors from around Missouri and the United States. It is perhaps best known for its crystal-clear Mystery Lake.
Legend tells of a Native American wedding ceremony right in the cave sometime during the 1800s, thus earning the cave the name Bridal Cave. (It's a popular spot for weddings in the 21st century, too.)
