Every day, we should feel proud to be Missourians. But the fact that one of our own restaurants, made it on Yelp’s Top 100 Places To Eat In 2017 , well that’s just another thing to brag about.
Blues City Deli is located in the St. Louis neighborhood, Benton Park.
Just like its name states, this restaurant is all about blues music. Every Thursday and Saturday, dine in to enjoy live music from local bands.
The walls are adorned with some of the greatest artists to ever live.
Alright, now it's time to chow down on some of the fan favorites.
First off, there's the Muffaletta
Transport yourself to the French Quarter in New Orleans when you take a bite into this unique sandwich. It's packed with Genoa salami, ham, mortadella, provolone, mozzarella and homemade olive salad. The sandwich is huge, and the full order can serve two people.
While we're at it, let's add another New Orleans staple, the Po' Boy.
Blues City puts a twist on this New Orleans favorite by using fresh deli slices on a baguette instead of fried shrimp or catfish. The Benton Park Po' Boy features ham, roast beef, turkey, provel, lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion, pepperoncini & sweet red pepper sauce.
Excite your taste buds with Mel's Blue & Tangy
When it comes to comfort food, pulled chicken will always have a special place in my heart. Add in bacon, tomato, onion, chunky blue cheese dressing & Zing sauce on an Italian roll and you've got me sold.
Keep your eyes open for the most delicious special of them all...the Aporkalypse Pretzelwich
Unfortunately, it's not a regular item on the menu, but when it's offered, go for it. The peppered pork roast, bacon and gooey provolone are topped with pickles and spicy sauce.
The line gets pretty long, but it's worth it!
It's not uncommon to see a line out the door. But what do you expect for an amazing place like this? The good news is that it moves along pretty quick. The even better news? The wait is worth the reward.
The fact that Blues City Deli has maintained a 5-star rating with over 500 reviews, is quite telling to how consistently amazing this sandwich shop is. Hungry yet? Then head over to 2438 McNair Avenue in St. Louis, Missouri. You won’t be disappointed.
