If you’re a native of St. Louis, it’s very likely that you have visited the Missouri Baking Company or knew someone nice enough to share their treats with you. If you have never had sweets from this little bake shop hop in your car and get ready for an amazing taste experience. Located in the Italian neighborhood The Hill, this little bake shop has been serving the St. Louis area since 1924. Keeping things almost as they were a century ago, you won't find anything beyond the most amazing baked goods made fresh daily.
Their quaint shop is run by the Gambaro family who opened the doors to the bakery 94 years ago. Expect great service and friendly staff when you visit the Missouri Baking Company.
The worst part about your visit will be trying to decide which treats to take home and which to try on another visit. They are really well known for biscotti, tiramisu, and their fresh breads. However, everything to choose from is amazing and it's always a daunting task!
In the summer, they will offer seasonal treats like peach pies and coffeecakes. Another fruit favorite is the pineapple tart which is so unique and flavorful.
There is no way you can stop by the Missouri Baking Company without having a cannoli. Made with real ricotta, these tasty treats aren't overpowered with sweetness like prepacked cannolis.
