The three campgrounds at Mark Twain State Park have something for adventurers of all sorts. If you'd like an old-fashioned getaway, pitch a tent among the towering trees.
Badger, Coyote, and Puma Campgrounds are all open year-round. However, showers and water are only available from April 15 through October 31 annually.

Or reserve a spot to park your RV. If you're bringing kiddos, opt for a stay at the Puma Campground. It features such amenities as a playground, showerhouse, restroom, and vault toilets.
If you're all about coziness when it comes to camping, book one of the camper cabins at Puma. While the cabins have heating and A/C, you'll still get the real camping experience. You'll have to walk to the nearby restrooms, and there is no water in the cabin.
Pack your swimming gear if you're visiting during the summer. The sandy beach leads into Mark Twain State Park, perfect for cooling off on those hot days.
The sprawling state park boasts a full menu of amenities - disc golf, nearly a half dozen hiking trails, boating, and picnicking - so you'll have little difficulty finding ways to fill your days.
