The tiny town of Pocahontas only has about 115 residents, but you’ll find one of the best bakeries along their quite streets. Located in the original 1910 Pocahontas bank building is the quaint Pie Safe Bakery and Cafe. This adorable little bakery serves up baked goods, breakfast, and lunch every Wednesday through Sunday.
The owner and baker, Sharon, opened the bakery in 2012 after a complete remodel of the old bank building. You'll find that many of the ingredients used at Pie Safe come from local farms from the southeast Missouri area.
Upgrade your sandwich, order freshly baked bread and taste the difference. This soft, yet substantial loaf pairs perfectly with their homemade jams and jellies.
