10 Amazing Places In Missouri That Are A Photo-Taking Paradise

It would be easier to find places in Missouri that AREN’T great for photography. From big cities to country foothills, rivers and lakes, mountains, or just outside your back door, you just have to know what to look for. Here are some great shots taken in Missouri.
1. The Kansas City Zoo
Zoos are a great place to catch pictures of a large variety of animals. This shot was taken at the Kansas City Zoo, but Missouri has several zoos and animal habitats including Animal Paradise and Dickerson Park Zoo in the Springfield area, the St. Louis Zoo and Grant’s Farm in St. Louis, Lazy L Safari Park in Cape Girardeau, and the Promised Land Animal Park in Eagle Rock.
2. Missouri Botanical Gardens
Gardens by design are made to be pleasing to the eye and celebrate the beauty of nature. This photo, taken at the Missouri Botanical Garden in St. Louis, is an excellent example. Check out more garden shots

3. Ha Ha Tonka State Park

4. Elephant Rocks State Park
Another park featured in the link above, Elephant Rocks is named for the giant granite boulders many believe resemble elephants.
5. Katy Trail
Katy Trail is the country’s longest Rails to Trails trail at 240 miles, created from unused train rails being converted into a multi-use trail for biking, hiking, and sometimes horse-riding. 240 miles through nature is an endless supply of great photo-ops.
6. Cathedral Basilica
Churches often contain intricate details and amazing architecture and are great places for pictures. Pictured is Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis, a Roman Catholic cathedral built in 1914 and located in the Central West End in St. Louis. See more great church photos

7. Missouri State Capital

8. Black River

9. Montauk State Park
Another state park, Montauk State Park is another of the 50 Missouri State Parks, located at the headwaters of the Current River, famous for fishing. You can read about this park as well as nine others

10. Random Missouri Countryside
You can find great pictures throughout the Missouri countryside. This is a photo of the largest Burr Oak Tree in Missouri, measuring 90 feet tall and over 300 years old, and located near Columbia.
