We all need some adult-only time, where we don’t have to worry about anything but having a little bit of fun. While it might be tough to carve out time, we certainly don’t have a shortage of places to go. This adults-only arcade in St. Louis, Missouri, is the perfect destination when we’re yearning for a bit of nostalgia, a slice of pizza, and a cold drink.
Treat yourself to an old-fashioned good time at Up-Down in St. Louis, an old-school arcade that's strictly for the 21+ crowd. The vibe is so authentic that the arcade games cost the same as they did - 25 cents - way back when.
If you're on the other side of the state, check out the Up-Down in Kansas City.
This old-school arcade offers both indoor and outdoor seating. With twinkling lights and familiar faces from the 90s painted on the brick wall, the patio's chill vibe is perfect for catching up with friends and sipping a cold beer.
Up-Down STL has a limited but scrumptious menu featuring more than 70 beers and a variety of house-made pizzas. Order cheese or pepperoni by the slice or the pie.
If you prefer your pizza with a bit more of a zing, try the bacon mac and cheese, jalapeno popper, or Cajun chicken. Don't forget to add the cheesy garlic bread as a side.
While the pizza's sure to fill you up, the real blast from the past comes when you start wandering around the arcade, deciding which game to pluck tokens into first.
Up-Down St. Louis features daily specials, such as 10-cent tokens on Thursdays, and usually hosts family hours from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the first Sunday of the month.
