6 Paved And Beautiful Paths In Missouri That Are Perfect For A Family Bike Ride
Warm weather with golden sunshine means spending time outdoors, preferably with the family. One of the best ways to embrace the outdoors is to set off on a family bike ride along one of the many paved biking trails in Missouri. Here are just six of them to get you started. (If you prefer not to bike, you can also hike on the following trails.)

Enjoy sweeping views of the Missouri River when you follow the Missouri Riverfront Trail, which is partially paved and partially crushed gravel. Spanning just under five miles, the family-friendly trail is popular with both bikers and hikers. It’s an ideal biking trail any time of the year, although you might want to avoid biking on really hot days. (There’s little to no shade along the trail.) For a relatively short but completely paved trail, bike on the Lakeside Park Loop Trail. The 3.5-mile trail passes such scenic beauty as a manmade lake and local wildlife. The park also features fishing and boating, a spray park, and a campground. Click here for more information.

Although Prairie Creek Greenway Trail is predominately paved, you’ll run across some areas that aren’t paved. However, the pretty trail that meanders just over four miles is perfect for a leisurely family ride. It’s open all year, offers shade in some spots, and even features a picturesque bridge. Stretching through Jefferson Barracks Park, Mississippi River Greenway clocks in at 2.6 miles and features concrete and asphalt. The trail can get pretty busy sometimes, but you’ll be treated to sweeping views of the Mississippi. It’s also considered easy for hikers and bikers of all skill levels. Carve out plenty of time for your ride along the 6.8-mile Henry Wiggins Trolley Track Trail. As you’re biking along the tree-lined path, you might want to stop at one of the shops along the way for a bite to eat or something to drink. The trail is also popular with hikers and can get busy. Bike through the forest on the 2.7-mile Lake Remembrance Loop Trail. (The trail is particularly pretty during the peak of the fall foliage.) Your best bet is to do the trail as an out and back. Otherwise, you’ll have to travel along a busy street. Click here for more information on Lake Remembrance.
