A lot of great things that happened in American history were rooted in Missouri. However, not everyone in our state was out to support the greater good. These 6 people all had ties to 5 Missouri cities and committed some pretty unthinkable acts of violence.

Though Berdella was born in Ohio, all of the crimes he committed took place in Kansas City. Berdella's victims were male and all of them were drugged, held captive and tortured before he killed them. He kept a torture log which listed out some of his tactics that included gouging out eyeballs, electrical shocks and injecting their vocal chords with drainer.

After serving 21 years in jail for the murder of his wife, Blair went on a killing spree in an effort to "kill all prostitutes." He was charged with 8 counts of homicide, though 2 of them and the sexual assault charges were dropped. In the end, he was convicted of killing 6 victims.

Lundgren was born and raised in Independence as member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was thought to have been abusive towards his wife and was dismissed by the church. He later founded his own cult in Ohio and convinced his members to brutally murder one of the families within the cult. This included not only the parents, but also their 15, 13 and 6-year old daughters.

James Earl Ray spent most of his childhood in Ewing, Missouri until joining the army during World War II. When he returned, he lived his life as a convict on the run, serving time and escaping prison by hiding in a bread truck.
