14 Undeniable Things Every True Missourian Has Done At Least Once
Living in Missouri is like living anywhere else in a lot of ways, but there are some things that are unique to our state. If you’re a true Missourian, you’ve probably done at least some of these things throughout your lifetime.

With more than 6,000 caves in the state, you surely went on at least one field trip to learn the difference between stalactites and stalagmites. The best one was the Mark Twain Cave - if you were close enough to Hannibal you got to go there on your field trip, where they turned off all the lights to show you how Tom Sawyer would have seen it.

Missourians know that burnt ends are actually a delicacy! They’re the tastiest part of the brisket, and the burnt part actually adds more flavor.

People in other parts of the country cut a pizza pie into triangles. That’s fine if you want to want to be a conformist. Missourians are more creative.

It might be a bit old-fashioned, but Missourians all learned to do it at one point in time (probably during elementary school). It is the state dance, after all!

Missourians get crazy during football season. They once set a record for the loudest crowd during a September KC Chief game, registering 142.2 decibels.

If you didn’t grow up in one of Missouri’s big cities, then you were probably involved in 4-H. If you stuck around long enough, you probably even won a ribbon or two.

You either visited during a field trip, or on one of the many occasions that you had to entertain those out-of-town cousins. It might be a super touristy thing to do, but the view is incredible!

We’re loyal Mizzou fans, whether it’s football or basketball. Our teams usually do pretty well, but the Tigers’ last NCAA championship was in 1965...for track and field.

If you had a creative teacher, she helped get you ready for the Missouri Constitution test by playing a fun game, like "Constitution Jeopardy." If you had a lame teacher, you filled out a bunch of worksheets and took a lot of quizzes.

You didn’t even need a passport! It’s a cool little town along Highway 66. I bet you have at least one photo of yourself in front of the World’s Largest Rocking Chair.

You’ll find Mark Twain sculptures all over the state, so you don’t even have to travel to Hannibal to get a photo with the greatest American writer of all time. Or if you’re really serious about your love for Mark Twain, pose with a Twain impersonator.

Just one of the many beautiful parts of our state, the Ozarks have so many recreation opportunities, not to mention gorgeous views.

People in Missouri love target shooting and hunting, but they’re also responsible about handling guns. Kids here take the Hunter Education course, which teaches them how to handle a gun safely, and even provides a little shooting range experience.
OK, not EVERY Missourian has done ALL of these things. But I’m willing to bet you’ve done a bunch of them! What else would you add to this list?
