We all know there are antiquated, dumb laws on the books in every state. Here are a dozen head-scratchers in Missouri – commuters should definitely take a look at No. 8!
1. Want to burn yard waste in Buckner, Missouri? It better not be Sunday, because then you'd be breaking the law.
2. In Columbia, clothesline are banned, but dropping your wet laundry over a fence? No problemo.
3. In Kansas City, you're out of luck if you want a bathtub with legs resembling animal paws.
4. We know it's hard, but in Natchez, you really shouldn't provide beer or other intoxicants to elephants.
5. St. Louis may be a beer town, but it's illegal to sit on the curb and drink beer from a bucket.
6. In University City, yard sales in the front yard are a no-go.
7. If you're a milkman in St. Louis, you better slow down. It's illegal to run!
8. Statewide, you'll need a permit if you want to shave while driving.
9. Don't even think about worrying about squirrels—in Missouri, it's a no-no.
10. Women are not allowed to wear corsets in Missouri.
11. It's also illegal to throw a hard object by hand (what does that mean for our beloved baseball?).
12. If you're a woman from Saco, you might want to think twice about wearing a hat that could scare children, animals or timid persons.
