Simple yet delicious, nothing hits the spot quite like a BLT. However, not all BLTs are created equal. Some are subpar, while others are so good, they make an impression that’ll last a lifetime. The BLT from The Tomato Place, a quirky roadside stop, falls into the latter category. Take a look:
Located along a stretch of highway in Vicksburg, The Tomato Place is an attraction, eatery, and produce stand all in one.
The one-of-a-kind destination actually started off as a few different fruit stands. In 2001, the fruit stands merged into one business, creating the ultimate roadside stop The Tomato Place is today.
Over the years, The Tomato Place has grown into a major pit stop for locals and tourists from both the U.S. and abroad. It’s even been featured on a few TV shows.
Part of what draws people to The Tomato Place is the on-site café, which serves up hearty breakfasts as well as salads, signature sandwiches, burgers, po'boys, and lunch plates featuring fresh, in-season vegetables.
Offering new twists on an old favorite, the menu features several variations of the classic sandwich. A BLT po’ boy, BLT club, and fried green tomato BLT are just a few of the options you’ll find on the menu.
So, are you ready to pay a visit to this wonderful roadside gem? The Tomato Place is open daily from 8 a.m. – 7 p.m. For more information, call (601) 661-0040. You can also visit The Tomato Place website or Facebook page.
