There are only a handful of ice skating rinks in Mississippi. Some are seasonal, while others operate year-round. And while each rink is great in its own right, there’s no denying that the rink at Mid-South Ice House tops them all – and that’s because it’s huge! At a whopping 17,000 square feet, it’s one of the largest in the state, which means there’s plenty of space for everyone. When it comes to ice skating in Jackson MS, you can’t beat this spectacular rink.
Mid-South Ice House is located in Olive Branch, a moderately sized and fast-growing city some of the best public schools in the state of Mississippi.
But while Olive Branch may be known for being named one of the 50 best towns to live in within the United States, it's also home to another admirable achievement: the largest ice skating rink the state of Mississippi.
Opened in 2011, the rink offers something for ice skaters of all skill levels – from the occasional skater to hockey players and figure skaters.
If you're a beginner, never fear! Mid-South Ice House offers a wide spectrum of classes, from learning the basics of staying upright on ice to learning complex figure skating moves and even performing theater on ice.

The ice rink at Mid-South Ice House isn’t your typical ice rink, though. Instead, it’s an NHL regulation-size rink, which is 200 feet long by 85 feet wide.
So, in total, the rink is 17,000 square feet, which is huge! Like we mentioned, it's the largest ice skating rink in the whole state and for that it draws crowds from miles around.
As the only year-round NHL-size ice skating arena in the Greater Memphis Metropolitan Area, Mid-South Ice House is sought out by skaters from as far as Jackson, MS, Dyersburg TN, and Little Rock, AR.
The facility hosts public skate sessions throughout the week, all year long, so you'll have plenty of opportunities to show off your skills (or learn some) on the ice.
It also hosts a variety of fun events, like Cosmic Skate, a nighttime skate session, complete with disco lights and great music. If you've got any sequins in your wardrobe at all, this is the time to wear them.
It also offers a variety of skate-related programs from Learn-To-Skate classes and hockey camps to curling leagues. So if you've always been curious about what curling actually is, now's your chance to learn.
A huge ice rink with programs and activities for the entire clan, Mid-South Ice House can truly accommodate everyone! If your loved ones are passionate about skating you can also rent the rink for the most memorable birthday party imaginable. Or retirement party or other celebration.
Rental options are available for the whole facility for a truly private night, or you can arrange to have a gathering in one section of the building as well as some skate time with the rest of the public.
