Ready or not, spring has sprung! The warmer weather tends to get everyone off the couch and outdoors to explore, especially since flowers are blooming everywhere. Ridgeland Wildflower Field is the best place to see wildflowers in Mississippi, and this is one hidden gem that’s worth a road trip from any corner of the state. Let’s check it out:
The Ridgeland Wildflower Field in Ridgeland, Mississippi is one of the best places to see wildflowers, and now is the time to pay this beautiful park a visit.
It's also an excellent opportunity to work on your wildlife photography skills. Grab your professional camera, a good zoom lens, and a tripod. With a little patience, you'll be rewarded with some spectacular shots!
The zinnias were specifically chosen because they can tolerate Mississippi’s hot summers.
These are the work of artist Harry Day, who skillfully created all of these sculptures using recycled materials. Many of the sculptures highlight the many activities in Ridgeland you can enjoy, such as biking, fishing, and tennis.
My personal favorites are the ones that feel like an Easter egg when you see them.
Keep an eye out for the bird sculptures that seamlessly blend right in! There's one woodpecker sculpture that always makes me smile when I see it.
Visitors are welcome to pick a small bouquet for themselves, just make sure you bring a pair of gardening sheers. Don’t pull the plant and yank it from its roots. Follow the Ridgeland Wildflower Park on Facebook so you never miss out on the latest blooms.
