I don’t know about you, but after several weeks of fighting crowds at shopping malls, restaurants and theaters, I’m ready for a nice break from real life. If you’re looking for some quiet relaxation, far away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, consider spending a weekend at Tishomingo State Park!
Tishomingo State Park is nestled in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. This scenic park covers 1,530 acres and has a fascinating Native American history. Especially during winter months, it's a great place to get away.
Hiking is a popular activity here, and a great way to get out in nature. The Outcroppings Trail is a two-mile-long loop. It starts and ends at the CCC Swinging Bridge.
The park also features some truly massive rock formations, unlike anything else you'll see in Mississippi. Watch for rock climbers - this is a popular spot for the sport.
Stay overnight in one of the six rustic cabins in the park. Each rustic cabin is equipped with heating, kitchens (with basic cooking equipment) and cozy beds. Click here to see photos of each cabin and reserve one.
