This charming Delta town has historic landmarks, a can’t-miss museum, boutique shopping, art, and a classic roadside diner. It’s the perfect destination for a unique and relaxed day trip! Once you've made it into Rolling Fork your first destination should be the Visitor's Center and Museum. You'll be greeted with friendly faces who will be happy to tell you about all the local places to visit while in town.
Inside the Visitor's Center, you will also find a small but impressive museum. The exhibits focus on local historical events like Theodore Roosevelt's famous bear hunt. You'll also find a great exhibit on Rolling Fork native and musical genius, Muddy Waters.
A trip to Rolling Fork would not be complete without a stop at Mont Helena. Take a tour and learn about the tragic love story between Helen Johnstone and Henry Vick.
Rolling Fork is well known for its annual festival, the Great Delta Bear Affair. The event celebrates the town's connection to the famous Theodore Roosevelt bear hunt of 1902. People come from all over the Mississippi Delta for a bear-y good time! To commemorate each year's celebration, a local craftsman carves a large bear statue from a large log during the festival.
At the end of the Great Delta Bear Affair, the bear statue is placed on display at the Visitor's Center. The previous bear is moved to another destination in town. Have you seen all the bears of Rolling Fork?
