There are lots of beautiful places to visit in Mississippi. Many of those places get even better at sunrise and sunset, which got us thinking: Wouldn’t it be great to plan a road trip centered around sunrises, sunsets, and adventure?! So, we mapped out a route packed with all three, along with a couple of great eateries.
Kick off your road trip with a visit to the famous Tatonut Donut Shop in Ocean Springs.
The unique donuts are whipped up daily and often sell out; however, that won’t be an issue if you arrive prior to sunrise. Fortunately, Tatonut Donut Shop opens bright and early at 5:30 a.m. Even luckier, the shop serves gourmet coffee, helping to make early mornings a bit easier.

Once you’ve gotten your fill of donuts, head to the beach in Bay St. Louis to watch the sunrise.
The massive geologic formation is just a short drive from the café. It’s located on private property; however, the owner has allowed the public to visit for years.
Red Bluff formed due to erosion caused by the nearby Pearl River.
A great spot for some outdoor fun, Red Bluff can be admired from above AND below. That’s right; you can actually trek down to the base of the canyon.
Well, what do you think? Are these some of the most beautiful places to visit in Mississippi at sunrise and sunset? Are you ready to embark on this epic one-day road trip across Mississippi? Need to make changes to the route? You can always alter the map the suit your needs.
