Most of Mississippi’s state parks are great visits year-round. However, some parks offer seasonal amenities that you don’t want to miss – and that’s definitely the case with Roosevelt State Park. A summertime must-visit, the park boasts a lake, swimming pool, and a towering waterslide. Take a look:
Somewhat centrally located, Roosevelt State Park is in the tiny town of Morton, which is situated between Meridian and Jackson.
Not only is Roosevelt State Park one of Mississippi’s oldest state parks, but it also boasts some of the most picturesque vistas thanks to a scenic overlook that provides panoramic views of the Bienville National Forest.
Spanning 150 acres, the sparkling, freshwater lake is a favorite of fishermen, boaters, and water skiers. And with plenty of docks, accessing the water is a breeze.
In addition to other amenities, such as picnic areas, nature trails, disc golf, and tennis courts, Roosevelt State Park offers several options for staying overnight. Choose between RV campsites, primitive sites, cabins, and a motel.
