Though Daniella was born in New York and has lived in a couple of other states, Mississippi has been her home for more than 30 years. After graduating from the University of Southern Mississippi, Daniella began to hone her writing skills through various internships. If you think all bookstores are created equal, you clearly haven’t visited Square Books in Oxford. Occupying three buildings, two floors, and over 10,000 square feet of space, the charming bookstore is like something straight from a dream. Take a look:
Founded in 1979, Square Books encompasses three different buildings – all of which are within 100’ apart on the historic town square in Oxford.
With over 10,000 square feet of merchandise, everyone from the occasional reader to the self proclaimed bookworm is sure to find something that piques their interest.
The 2nd floor of Square Books includes more books and a coffee bar with a balcony that overlooks the courthouse. After purchasing a book (or two), head on up and enjoy the incredible surroundings.
In addition to books for parents, babies, and kids through teen years, the shelves are brimming with toys, puzzles, and games. Story time is held every Wednesday at 10 am, so be sure to plan your visit accordingly.
The "lifestyle and leisure" store carries books on travel, cooking, art, photography, fashion, games, etiquette, hobbies and collecting. And that’s in addition to a variety of magazines, gifts, and a section of bargain/used books.
