Located in Columbus, the natural oasis offers the perfect escape from daily life, complete with a lake, pond, nature trails, a ton of history, and all the peace and quiet you could ask for. Basically heaven on earth, it’s hard to not fall in love with Plymouth Bluff. Take a look:
Spanning nearly 200 acres, Plymouth Bluff is tucked away in a secluded area high above the Tombigbee River Channel.
And that “perfect setting” we mentioned? It includes a river, pond, woodlands, cypress sloughs, nature trails, an outdoor Challenge Course, Environmental Discovery Lab, and more.
The area was actually once part of a vast inland sea and as a result, contains an abundance of fossilized remains, including mollusk shells and shark teeth.
Plymouth Bluff is also filled with plenty of deer, wild turkeys, raccoons, beavers, rabbits, squirrels, and armadillos. Wood ducks and Canadian geese also call the area home, and can often be found on the Tenn-Tom Waterway.
The Old Channel Trail is another top choice. Not only does it offer great views because it goes along the top of a bluff, but it also leads hikers to the base of the bluff, which is the perfect spot to look for fossils.
Plymouth Bluff also features a variety of facilities, including a conference room, outdoor pavilion, lakeside amphitheater, tennis and volleyball courts, and…
