Often referred to as "Mississippi’s best kept secret," Holly Springs is loaded with history, tradition, and plenty serene sites, including the Holly Springs National Forest, Chewalla Lake, and the Strawberry Plains Audubon Center.
Home to less than 1,000 residents, Blue Mountain is a peacefully quiet, slow-paced town, with one (welcomed) exception. During the holiday season, Blue Mountain is the site of "Christmas in Cotton Plant," the unbelievable display includes over 300,000 lights and hundreds of inflatables.

In a town with a population of less than 500, peace and quiet is a given; however, you’d probably be surprised to learn this picturesque small town also boasts an impressive music and art scene as well as the renowned catfish restaurant, Taylor Grocery.

Although located just nine miles from Jackson, Pocahontas is so tranquil you’ll feel as if you’re a million miles away. When visiting the small community, take a peaceful stroll through Pocahontas’ roadside park, which includes an ancient Indian mound that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Now an unincorporated community, Church Hill is located on the bluffs of the Mississippi River, resulting in peace and quiet in a relaxing riverfront setting.

Head to the quiet town and, aside from a tranquil setting, you’ll find the Hollywood Café, which is where musical legend Muriel Watkins used to play the piano on a regular basis. The famous musician and the café were mentioned in the song, "Walking In Memphis."

Home to about 4,000 residents, Newton is a small town where peace and quiet are the norm. And if it's seclusion you’re looking for, Newton has that too. The Bienville National Forest is located less than an hour away, and offers everything from hiking to camping.
Located halfway between Vicksburg and Meridian, Pelahatchie is home to less than 1,500 residents. The small town is also home to Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park. The park, which is centered around a 95-acre lake, includes cabins, primitive camping, and RV sites, which means you can turn your visit into a relaxing overnight getaway.
