There’s nothing like growing up in a small town. And even though you may not have appreciated it at the time, you now realize how amazing it truly was. From one-of-a-kind experiences to unforgettable life lessons, here are 15 reasons why growing up in small town Mississippi is the best!
1. When you weren’t in school, every last minute was spent outdoors.
2. And that time outdoors was spent doing things like drinking straight from the water hose, catching fireflies, riding bikes – stuff city kids can only dream about.
6. You were constantly visiting local “mom and pop” shops. And if you didn’t have enough money to buy something, it was never an issue because the store owner knew you and would either lower the price or let you pay for it later.
14. If a cop pulled you over, you got really nervous – not because of a possible ticket, because the officer knew your parents and would definitely be giving them a call. While you didn’t appreciate this then, you now realize what a blessing it was.
15. Lastly, you learned to have fun anywhere! Whether chatting with friends on the porch or sitting around a bonfire, you're going to have a good time.
