The last thing you’d expect to find in the middle of a city is a forested, creekside trail, but that’s exactly the case in Jackson. The hidden trail system has been used by locals for years, and is now in the process of being made into an official trail called the Museum Trail. A totally unique way to explore Mississippi’s capital city, this secret trail will lead you on a real life adventure. Take a look:
For years, Jackson residents have been using a section of abandoned railroad track, running from High Street to the Pearl River, as a hiking trail.
The Mississippi Farmers Market is held inside an 18,000 square foot building, making it one of the largest in the state. Located on High Street in Jackson, the market is open every Saturday from 8 am – 2 pm.
The new trail will provide access to 6 museums and 3 parks, including LeFleur’s Bluff State Park, the Mississippi Museum of Natural Science, and the Mississippi Children’s Museum.
