The Ross R. Barnett Reservoir is a massive, 33,000-acre lake that’s Mississippi’s largest drinking water resource and one of the most popular spots for outdoor fun. There are five campgrounds peppered around the lake as well as many boat launches, parks, and piers for fishing, boating, and swimming, and it also just happens to be nestled along the historic Natchez Trace, one of the most scenic drives in the country. There’s a beautiful little spot to park and enjoy the views, so let’s take a closer look at the Reservoir Overlook in Mississippi and what to expect along the drive.
For a longer road trip, consider taking the entire 444-mile road trip along the Trace! Here are some of our favorite hidden gems along the Natchez Trace.
