If you’re craving an authentic southern meal – sans the effort – a visit to Sawmill Family Restaurant is in order. Many of the restaurant’s cooks are actual grandmas, so even though it’ not your grandma’s food, your stomach will be convinced otherwise. The best part is that the restaurant has a buffet, so you can eat to your heart’s content…just like at Grandma’s! Take a look:
Situated right off the highway in Wiggins, Sawmill Family Restaurant has been in the business of great grub since 1998.
But don’t let the amount of cars keep you from visiting Sawmill Family Restaurant – the spacious dining room provides plenty of space for the crowds that frequent the eatery.
In the spirit of southern hospitality, all guests are greeted as if they’re longtime friends. The warm greeting is just the beginning of the authentic southern experience that awaits, though.
Look over the menu, and your mouth is bound to start watering as you peruse all the tasty options. Having to decide what to order can be difficult – luckily, there’s a buffet, so you don’t have to make that decision.
Sure to hit the spot, the lunch buffet is brimming with southern classics. Each day, the buffet features a different meat; however, fried chicken is a permanent fixture per customers’ demands.
A salad bar and sweet selection of desserts, which includes southern favorites like sheet cake and banana pudding, only add to the buffet’s savory selection.
And while the buffet offering changes daily, the food is consistently delicious – and that’s because many of the restaurant’s cooks have been there since day one. (Plus, it doesn’t hurt that several are actual southern grandmas.)
Sawmill Family Restaurant is opened Sunday – Friday, from 7 a.m. – 2 p.m. For more information, call (601) 928-9410. You can also visit the Sawmill Family Restaurant Facebook page.
