Great nature trails can be found all over Mississippi, but if you’re searching for “The Nature Trail,” you’ll have to head to Natchez. Also known as the “Lower Trail,” the one-a-kind hike features a 200’ descent, provides unparalleled views of the Mighty Mississippi, and leads straight to the city’s historic district, Under-The-Hill. Take a look:
Established in 1716, Natchez is one of the state's oldest cities and loaded with history.
While most of Natchez's stately antebellum homes are open for touring year-round, a great time to visit is during the Natchez Pilgrimage. Held twice a year, the event attracts thousands of people from across the country. Click here for more information.

The town also includes a historic district known as Under-The-Hill, and a great way to explore the historic spot is "The Nature Trail."
Spanning .43 miles, the 3-tiered trail, which is dotted with relaxation areas, vista points, and shaded benches, is rated as medium in terms of difficulty.
You'll definitely want to spend some time exploring the quaint area, which includes stores, a casino, several restaurants, and the Under-The-Hill Saloon.
