Throughout the years, several studies have deemed Mississippi one of the “most miserable” and “unhappiest” states in the nation. And we have to say, we couldn’t disagree more! There’s plenty to love about life in the Magnolia State. And to prove our point, we’ve compiled a list of some of the best things about residing in Mississippi.
True to its nickname, Mississippi is full of residents, who are kind and always willing to lend a hand.
Many states are revered for one specific dish or type of cuisine, but not Mississippi. The Magnolia State serves some of the best BBQ, seafood, fried catfish, and soul food.

Maybe it’s a consolation for our brutal summers, but winter in the Magnolia is a breeze. Sure, we have snowstorms from time to time, but it’s nothing compared to what our neighbors to the north deal with.
