No matter your interest, there’s sure to be something that appeals to you at the Marshall County Historical Museum. On the outside, it looks like any other museum. The same can’t be said for the inside, though. In fact, most visitors say it’s “more like an eccentric grandmother’s attic than a museum” – and that’s because it’s full of fascinating oddities, artifacts, and more.
A must-visit in Holly Springs, the Marshall County Historical Museum is billed as “one of the most interesting and unusual destinations the city has to offer.”
Living up to its reputation, the museum’s got some unique features – from its location in a former dormitory from the 1900s to its hodge podge of contents.
The first few exhibits showcase an array of Civil War relics. With more than 40,000 pieces, it’s the state’s biggest collection of Civil War memorabilia.
Ready to check out this quirky museum? Keep in mind that, with three floors and dozens of rooms, exploring it takes a while, so make sure to give yourself plenty of time to see all it has to offer.
