There’s no better way to get into the Christmas spirit than marveling at the amazing decorations that have gone up all over the state. And for many families, viewing these decorations is an anticipated holiday tradition. So just to help get the (festive) ball rolling, we’ve searched the state for some of the best decorations around. From spectacular light shows to intricate holiday displays, these 12 places will have you feeling the spirit of the season faster than you can say “jingle bells.” And if we missed your favorite light show or holiday display, tell us about it in the comments section below!
For well over 10 years, the Richardson Light Show has been lighting up the city of Madison. The free of charge Christmas celebration includes more than 200 inflatables, over 100,000 LED lights, hundreds of lighted wireframe characters and messages, a 23-foot animated tree, and much more.

Held in Central Park, Southaven’s annual Southern Lights display encompasses 116 acres, which are all beautifully adorned with 500,000 twinkling lights, making for a magical drive. And while there, be sure to check out the Christmas Tree Farm, which is synchronized to music by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. The amazing light show is a must-see and is open until the end of the month.

Between November 26th and December 26th, Collins’ Bettie D. Robertson Park lights up every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night thanks to the annual Christmas in the Park celebration. The beautiful light displays are meant to honor both the birth of Jesus Christ and the heroes of the United States Armed Forces.
For over two decades, the Lewis family has been in the business of getting people into the Christmas spirit via their larger than life Christmas display, which includes over 200,000 lights and several pieces of original art. Each year, residents look forward to the beautiful lights, but locals aren’t the only ones who enjoy it. The display has actually attracted visitors from as far away as Canada, Europe, and Asia! The light show is located at 280 White Chapel Road, is free to attend (donations accepted), and is open seven days a week, weather permitting, until the end of the year.
Years in the making, Gulfport’s Harbor Lights Winter Festival kicked off for the first time this year. The festivities, which are held in Jones Park, include live entertainment, concessions, a 65-foot Ferris wheel, train and carriage rides, and an incredible, multi-million dollar light display.

During the warmer months, great views at Wister Gardens come in the form of beautiful flowers, but in December, the amazing views can be attributed to the annual Winter Wonderland of Lights celebration. Referred to as "the best kept secret in north Mississippi," Christmas in Cotton Plant is like nothing you’ve ever seen! The display, which attracts thousands of people nightly, spans 13 acres and includes over 300,000 lights and hundreds of inflatables.

Amazing decorations adorn the entire Old Town area of Bay St. Louis, which of course include a ton of sparkling snowflakes.
