A castle in Mississippi may seem like a far-fetched idea, but it’s actually not as outlandish as it sounds. Hidden in the small town of Decatur is the magnificent Pierce Castle. Complete with a knight-in-shining-armor, thrones, and even a waterfall, the marvelous castle is like something straight from a fairy tale.
The story behind Pierce Castle is somewhat of a fairy tale itself, and it all began when Grover Pierce returned home from war in 1945. Upon his homecoming, the young soldier was reunited with his wife, Margaret.
Ready to start a family, the two moved to the property that now includes the stunning castle. The land quickly turned into a prosperous farm, complete with horses, cattle, pigs, and chickens. Over time, five daughters were also added to the mix.

Eventually, Margaret had an idea for another addition – a castle. By 2008, that idea was turned into a reality as Pierce Castle was completed.

Since its completion, Pierce Castle has been a premier wedding venue in the state, which makes sense, because who wouldn’t want to get married in a stunning castle?
The castle includes exceptional details, making for a truly surreal experience. From the moment you walk through the door, you’ll feel as if you’ve walked into an actual castle.

Complete with thrones and a knight, the foyer (pictured) is definitely fit for royalty.
After undergoing renovations in 2013, Pierce Castle now includes an indoor/outdoor ballroom reception area – perfect for a king and queen.
The royal treatment doesn’t end with the wedding, either. Newlyweds can even spend their wedding night in the castle’s King and Queen’s Quarters (pictured).

Aside from the impressive castle, the beautiful grounds are filled with mesmerizing photo-ops, including the beautiful Oka-Itsu-Pyah Falls (pictured).
And just to ensure guests remember they’re in a castle, knight’s armor and other fitting décor can be found all around the property.
