Mississippi is no stranger to great, locally owned restaurants. But if you’re searching for one of the most unique, you’ll have to head to the Starfish Café in Bay St. Louis. Aside from dishing up food that’s fresh, local, and made to order, the quaint café has a “pay what you want” policy.” Between the great food and unique concept, it’s easy to see why the Starfish Café is already a local favorite.

Hidden in the small beach town of Bay St. Louis, the Starfish Café is bound to be unlike any restaurant you’ve ever visited.
Rather than set prices, the café operates on a "pay what you want" basis. Exactly as it sounds, you pay depending on what you think the food and experience are worth. To make things a bit easier, higher cost items are highlighted on the menu, giving you an idea of how much to donate.
With a "commitment to wellness," the café uses only the freshest ingredients.
In the front lawn, you’ll find a thriving garden full of herbs, veggies, and edible flowers, which are incorporated into recipes for the "fullest of fresh flavors." All other ingredients are sourced from local growers and grocery stores.

In addition to a job training course for college students, Starfish Café holds cooking classes, a Shop Smart and Healthy program, and other health related workshops.
