The results are in…and according to Southern Living, New Albany, Mississippi is one of the best small towns in the South! To anyone familiar with New Albany, the recognition is far from surprising. When it comes to charming small towns, New Albany can’t be beat!

But you don’t have to take our word for it. *Southern Living* recently ranked it one of The South’s Best Small Towns 2021.

Its inclusion on the list is even more impressive when you learn it’s the only Mississippi town that made the cut!

Totally deserving of the recognition, New Albany is practically overflowing with small-town charm. It’s most known as the birthplace of literary legend William Faulkner, but that’s not its only claim to fame.

It’s also the gateway to the Tanglefoot Trail, a 44-mile rail trail that’s perfect for everything from a scenic bike ride to a serene stroll.

New Albany’s perks also include a “walkable downtown.”

A must-visit when in New Albany, the thriving downtown boasts parks, specialty shops, eateries, antique stores, and more.

Among the can’t-miss shops is The Vintage Market. Dubbed “New Albany's best kept little secret," it features a gift shop and an old-fashioned ice cream counter.

For an extra special treat, visitors to New Albany should stop by Sugaree’s Bakery.

The bakeshop was also recently recognized by *Southern Living*, which named it one of "The South’s Best Bakeries 2021.”

Not surprisingly, this isn’t New Albany’s first time in the spotlight. In 2020, *USA Today* named it “The Best Southern Small Town.” It’s also been deemed one of “The 10 Most Beautiful Cities In The State.”
